This not only protects the exterior walls and provides better impact resistance, insulated vinyl siding also blocks more outside noise from being heard inside the home.

Finally, when considering siding options, take a look at the manufacturer’s warranty. Many materials, like engineered wood, typically have limited warranties.  Stucco, stone, and brick should last for the life of the home, but that comes with a higher purchase price.

And ask around – see what your neighbors have on their homes. Ask them what they like and don’t like about it, the required maintenance, and any problems with durability. If they’re pleased with their siding, find out who the manufacturer is and who performed the installation.
